MIKE G- CRAWL SPACE INSULATION AND VAPOR BARRIER INSTALLATION

ISSUES TO ADDRESS

Due to a severe lack of insulation and the customer report of being uncomfortable in the cold winter months, this North Massapequa homeowner was seeking a correct solution for the Crawl Space under the master bedroom of the home. Some of the issues were drafts, musky smells, and crickets and spiders entering the bedroom from the Crawl Space.

Before

DIAGNOSIS

When Peter from Master Plumbing Heating Cooling assessed the Crawl Space and the home as a whole, he identified a lack of insulation to walls and ceilings of the 12×24 Crawl space located directly under the homes master bedroom. Peter also found the crawl space to be dirty and musky in need of a clean solution to satisfy the customer’s goal for this space. Peter also identified the fiberglass insulation previously installed was falling down from the ceiling. Also identified were 2 open vents leading to the outside of the home causing humidity and moisture to enter the crawl space area.

After

PROJECT OUTCOME

Using the recommendation provided by comfort expert Peter Ehinger, the Master Plumbing Heating Cooling production foreman Mark Borgella met with his crew member Joseph Biddy, discussed the solution and went right to the installation work. The crew was able to help the homeowner eliminate cold drafts, musky odors and insects from entering the crawlspace by the installation of closed cell high-performance spray foam, sealing all walls, air vents and ceiling. The crew all installed a heavy-duty reinforced vapor barrier and clean space floor liner. After this job was complete the homeowner provided the following testimonial to our company:

“My sales guy Peter was excellent and very thorough, I also appreciated that he was there throughout the entire install with his crew”.

“Mark and Joey were awesome as well, both were very nice, easy to talk to, neat and extremely organized, they did a GREAT job”
